Kanopy is a company that provides attractive, everyday clothes for plus size women. Founded in 1995, it quickly found a niche market amongst women wanting attractive clothes in larger sizes.
Kanopy's image needed to be updated and DarkeJones were asked to reposition it ahead of competitors by communicating the quality and design of the clothing range. The first phase concentrated on print material: advertising, catalogues and stationery.
Previously, Kanopy's advertising had been relatively unadventurous. DarkeJones brought a new aesthetic to it, highlighting the sophistication of Kanopy's clothing through stylish photography.
The Kanopy catalogue for its 2008 spring collection was a step up, both visually and materially: the photographs of Kanopy's clothing were more carefully presented than in previous catalogues and the introduction of mood shoots in double-page spreads were successful at communicating the brand's personality; we also raised production standards, giving the catalogue a far better touch-and-feel with better quality paper and perfect binding, whilst achieving higher environmental standards.
