About us

DarkeJones is a design and branding consultancy based in Birmingham and London.

What we do

We help our clients to communicate and influence customers and stakeholders.

Our work can take many different forms, from corporate literature to websites, brand identities to brand awareness; we combine creative excellence with technical expertise and professional project management to deliver on budget, to specification and on time.

Who for?

Global, regional and local, we work for business to business and consumer clients. The examples of work within our portfolio section represent some of our clients and the span of industries and sectors we work with. The portfolio reflects the breadth and variety of our skills and the strength of our strategic partnerships.

What's our approach?

Great design comes from understanding: who you are, what you do, how you do it and why you do it - in addition to knowing what you are trying to achieve. This ensures that we have a clear and comprehensive understanding of you and your brief, which is critical if you want to communicate successfully with your existing and potential audiences.

Our process

Our process is fairly simple and born out of common sense and experience.

We work closely with our clients - sometimes before a brief has even been set we will talk openly and inclusively with them about ideas and approaches that might be right for their brand.

It's an approach that our clients appreciate; we never take anything for granted and the start of our process is all about questioning and understanding. The result of these initial stages informs and underpins the project.

Below is a simple overview of the process we typically follow. It can be adapted according to client needs.

  1. Questioning
  2. Understanding
  3. Project planning
  4. Project team
  5. Interpretation
  6. Delivery
  7. Measurement

We are green - the changing brand environment

Awareness of climate change, ethical production and greater corporate responsibility has become part of stakeholder focus. They are placing their brand loyalty and trust in simple and clear brands whom strike an appropriate balance between ethics, lifestyle, practicality and affordability.

You don't have to be committed to green values to recognise that current environmental issues have consequences for future brands and business strategy.

At DarkeJones we assess the impact of the environment on brands and their values.
